About the video:
On Credit TV is out to expose the hidden side of Professional Surfing, whilst living the surfing dream through the eyes of Johnny Abegg, an aspiring Pro Surfer. The story follows the World Qualifying Series (WQS) that takes over 400 aspiring pro’s around the globe, traveling through many countries; South Africa, Brazil, France, Japan, Portugal, Maldives, Canary Islands, USA and more. The surfers aspire to qualify for the grand slam of surfing called the World Championship Tour (WCT).
Johnny Abegg is one of these aspirants, with his “sponsor’ being the 4 credit cards and the $27,000 debt he has racked up from three previous years competing on the WQS. The journey follows Johnny over a full WQS year of about 30 events worldwide, giving a “behind the scenes” look into the Pro Surfing world, and a very personal up and down account of life on the road, travelling ‘on credit’… Will Johnny fulfil his dream? Or will his credit cards max out beforehand?
