“THE CROC GOT ALL THE BEST WAVES”
A weighty 7 metre swell pummeled the Tasman Peninsula as Tasmanian Martin “Para” Paradisis and mainland compadres Dan Ross, Richie Vaculik, and Mark Matthews tow-surfed into another mega-session at Shipstern Bluff. They were not alone - this time the crew brought a life-sized blowup crocodile to share the massive tubes with them.
The conditions appeared to improve as soon as they brought the inflatable crocodile into the lineup. “All the boys agreed that the wind dropped out and the sets got bigger with the croc out there”, said Photographer Stuart Gibson, “The croc got all the best waves”. Matthews and Vaculik scored massive Shipsterns caverns with their crocodile companion. Amazingly the inflatable crocodile survived repeated beatings at the hands of one of the world's heaviest waves.
